Westgate attack, Kenya let's stay United,

It was just a few minutes to one, after an economics class. Kenn, our class rep was on the phone. I was staring at this girl, Damaris. You must have heard her somewhere. Damaris Kitavi. She was a reporter in the renowned KTN. I'm not sure if she is still there. I was staring, my mind away in fallacy, i was thinking of how I will marry her may be, but maybe she is married, may be not.
But this girl is a true meaning of beauty.
I was away in a world of fantasies that I didn't hear what Kenn told me, funny how some things can be destructive. And even when I heard i didn't take it seriously, which is not a good trait of a Journerdist or a journerlist, of my mettle.
It even did not sink into my brain, what it did was like what my class one English teacher told me, came in through the right ear and left via the left ear.
So Damaris left, I became sobber and went to klabu for a plate of mchele-mix. For those who haven't been to klabu, it is a place in UON where students eat, but it's not the school's eating hall. It's kind like an exact replica of Laico Regency in the school.
It's Saturday, I had nothing important to do. I couldn't go for the crowd-puller Safaricom sevens, blame my under-employment status .
I decided to do a stroll around town at least I know some place new. So i found myself in the famous Koinange, passed by the place  where machines wash cars, and found myself at Nakumatt lifestyle.
It is at Nakumatt lifestyle where I saw the breaking news.
I saw a scattered crowd staring at the nice plasma screens in the Hotel lounge, i almost ignored, but hey a Journerdist does not ignore a crowd !
It hit me like an arrow shot by Robin Hood himself. It is at this point that i remembered what Kenn was trying to tell me . "There have been gunshots at Westgate mall" Rubadiri's voice. Which I hate to love and still love to hate made my blood go cold.
I even thought it is her twang changing sentences. My heart pounded, i was tense, my palms went cold, I felt a cold line of sweat trickling down my armpits.
"This must be alshabaab"I overheard a patron at the Hotel speak his mind. Everyone else at the venue was shocked to silence.
I couldn't stand no more. I walked to Jevanjee grounds and sat at one of the hot rocks in the garden. I could feel some fats melting at my hind-quarters.
I did not want to think it was any terrorist group. I did not want to remember August 7th.
Who could be behind all this? Alshabaab? Something must be done about this terrorist group.
We live that to the intelligence service to do .
But whoever that may be, let them know that Kenya is a sovereign state and we shall not be cowed. We will fight to defend what is ours.
26 people have been confirmed dead and many more injured. They need blood. Aga-Khan and M. P Shah hospitals appeal to well-wishers to donate blood. As a Kenyan it's your time to stand out and be counted. I will visit aga-Khan and save a life. You should too. Go and save a fellow Kenyan. Kenya Red Cross are really doing a good job at the scene.
Reliable sources say the police are approaching the situation with caution because there are innocent civilians inside. Both the president and his deputy continue being briefed about the situation . Public figures have issued condolence statements, to those grieved, and wished a quick recovery to people injured. This includes Raila Odinga, Martha Karua and Peter Kenneth. Kalonzo Musyoka urged Kenyans to stay United
Let's pray for our fellow Kenyans.

Write a story, tell a story,

People write stories these days.Anyone can do a story alright, but it takes creativity to do mind-blowing stories, who unfortunately are just a chosen few. I was introduced to the world of stories by this man ,Ted Malanda. Of course you read standard`s crazy monday. There i met the likes of Oyunga Pala. Then I also read Clay Muganda's articles in the nation. I was just a mere 3rd form then.
These are things I remember with nostalgia, my friends Makamu, Levius and I would compete for the keeping of the school newspaper. But I don't know how Levius managed to beat us all. I always thought he gave the librarian something.
I sincerely miss those days I would sneak articles to class and read them through out the prep.
This put me at loggerheads with most of the senior prefects in my class, especially one Soita Enock, I remember he was the senior Boarding or something.

In our school it was illegal to carry anything non-academic to class but who cared anyway. Things became even harder when I was appointed the class secretary. My duty among others was to report those who read not so academic stuff in class. This was hard for me, I was summoned by my principal Mr. Mwaturo severally over the matters of newspapers in class, bamboo touched my backside a few ten-times. By the way, I enjoyed these visits to the principal, he was my role model, i even cried the day he was transferred.
Mr Mwaturo was no ordinary principal, he knew literally everything whenever he would stand up to speak everyone would listen,He is the greatest of them all. He studied in mangu school, went to Kabarak high school for A levels, and graduated from the University of Nairobi. When I buy my first car I will pay him a visit.

In school, I wondered how can people possibly stay without getting informed, that was very ignorant, people need to know stuff, people need to read, people need to write. If you don't read, you can never write that a fact.
Someone said Kenyans don't read. Only a few people really read. But what do you expect?
Kenya is a country of very funny people, I'll give you an example. I schooled in Bungoma county. It was during our fourth form that  our "proud" alumni came  visiting . The alumni is big. There was one professor, several Doctors, a judge (of the supreme court) and a politician. Of all things they did, the greatest was buying us a bull worth ksh50,000. That was what called for cheers from amongst students. And our library had no books except those 16th century things that smelled like old.

When people who don't read write, we are doomed! But you are safe, I read few things here and there.

There are People who write great stories, like the likes of Bogonko Bosire. In the Kenyan online society, writers, or rather people write a lot of rubbish. There are no story-tellers. Only Jackal news has got some.
It is really embarrassing that the paradigm of print journalism has changed in way of presentation but nothing has changed in the way of writing.
I read something about the journalists of the future, and through out the text one thing was very vivid, he is a story-teller.

Most of us were unlucky to be born in such terrible times. I wish I had sat down and hear a story from an old, wise grandfather. I would have been the best.
Such stories, I am told, they were very interesting, and at the end it had a moral lesson. But you weren't told the moral of the story directly, you were supposed to think and come up with one. So it was something like a mind teaser.
That is how it should be.
Writers need to write, tell stories, exaggerate a little or even lie, tease the reader's mind, give the facts and if possible, be biased, and the reader can think and find the moral of the story.

A story should be something like a ritual. It should carry you away, it should answer your many questions, it should make you think. It should make you cry, laugh, it should inspire.
It should be a story. It should make you learn, it should emancipate. A story should be a saviour.
It should save the ignorant, it should save the society. It should save them from making poor decisions.
A story is everything.

STORY FROM THE ENVIRONMENT

It`s dark outside,a little peaceful but really not peaceful at all because of tomorrow.I know what to expect,i don't think i do,i think i do but i don't want to think about it..but what  i can tell you is that it would be worse than it was today or even yesterday. It`s about 40 minutes to midnight,it is calm. But yet there is never any calmness in this metropolitan, there is never peace.
How does that concern me?After all i`ll die and leave these ignorant, pathetic Humans alone at least then i`ll have some peace to myself.
Human beings are selfish,if only they could understand what i do for them,i think they do, only that they ignore, and so they become ignorant,or is it they become ignorant and they ignore? All the same ignorance is the end-product.And speaking of end products, have you seen what their industries are doing to my already dying underlings? My daughter stream is barely alive  in Africa.
This so called people are really callous, and why are they even called people?
I thought...
I give them fresh air, food ,water, and all they repay me with is a one day-awareness thingy? So every year on June 5th they masquerade around with green T-shirts so what?
The world is on fire men!unless someone does something this precious and beautifull world will be gone. I more-so pity Africa, the cradle pf human kind.Where did the beautiful, cool, savannah full of breeze go to?
My friends are diminishing each day. I miss my great buddies like the rhinos
,this days i hardly see them around.
So today i was blowing away in the city,Nairobi city,oh my! you should see what this place has grown to become. A few years ago this place was paradise, these days i barely exist in places like Dandora, there i was buried like the hatchet that good people used to defend me with, but life has to move on men.
As i was blowing away, something caught my attention,a young man just about 19 years of age.A scholar, very smart, ambitious, very hopeful of a bright future.
He was in a Matatu,i need not to explain how Matatus in Nairobi are like. I bet he has covered miles and miles just to come to this place and study, the city.
He has no future. It was destroyed by you.You destroyed me,you did that long ago and what you do is that you commemorating my death every June 5th. Men desperate for wealth form stupid NGOS  to add some money into their fat pockets, all they do is visit hopeless schools and plant hopeless trees, after that they buy themselves  top of  the range vehicles you know how these things work, don't you? What else would they use the fat funding's for?
Silly me i even forgot to introduce myself i was a friend to the great Wangare Maathai,i am a tree i am,water,i am air i am everything.Without me there`s nothing sometimes i even think i am God`s masterpiece. I am in need of conservation and great care,I am the Environment.Sounds familiar doesn't it?
I am through,i am sleepy.I feel like i am in a plastic bag, global warming is real. Stand  up and do something. Protect me and i will protect your future.

John muthee is a dick

This is a wonder story, a bad story, a story of a weak man. A man afraid to make tough decisions, a coward.
This is a story about killers, killers who are women. A woman who attempted murder and went Scott-free. A useless cunt. A woman called Wairimu Maina. A woman very lucky to be married to a man like John Muthee.
Muthee is a man any lady would die for, kill for and even kill so to avoid sharing him with the harlots of Nairobi. That is what happened to Muthee,a business man,a wealthy man.
A man who sells macadamia,a man who is a victim of many things.
A victim of irony. muthee in my native language is Mzee which in English is a man, a man highly rated by society. But I think muthee is an insult to the same.
Mrs.Wairimu, hired goons to kill his husband,Mr.
Muthee, due to reasons of infedility, reasons of love, reasons of cars, reasons of properties, and many reasons.
So she is the type that would rather kill than share.Very silly.
Infedility is nothing new,it was there in
David's time and will be even after you are gone.Accept and move on.

Unfortunately for her,the police were duly informed of the scheme, through an undercover informer.

On the fateful day ,
Wairimu took her dear husband to
Githurai,a place so crowded,so it would have been a superb place for the abduction to take place.
Please note that the couple's residence is
Zimmerman,a place three or four kilometres from
Githurai.

They were going on with their errands when out of nowhere, strangers came and started pulling
Muthee into a waiting car,he struggled to free himself from the abductors in vain.
Muthee called for help from his dear wife alias killer, she had disappeared like a desert cloud my good people.
But unkown to her, those were the fly squad unit of the police.

Muthee at this time in the car ,really confused and his heart beating fast and hard like how you would feel standing at the gets of hell.

He only calmed down after being told he was in the hands of the police, but he couldn't have committed any crime could he?

The shocker came after being told his wife was scheming to have him killed.
He was however kind enough to play along with the police.

They called the wife, the wife demanded to know where the logbook of the car was and the documents of the properties which Mr.
Muthee had really struggled to acquire.

That shows that really this wasn't a mere avenging mission, there was something else.
And is killing any way of avenging for infedility?

I agree both muthee and his wife are not very good parents, but for the wife to attempt murder, that is something else.

What would the children say about their mother, what will she teach her daughter?
Those are just a few things muthee should have given a thought about before forgiving a killer-mother.

Please don't get me wrong,i adore women, my mum and my sister are core women in my life.

I think muthee was either blackmailed,or succumed to some kind of pressure.
That isin't what what should have been done.
A man's got to stand his ground for the greater good.
Justice should have it's way,let her repent and
God will forgive her.

Friday The 13th

Friday the 13th is considered a day of bad luck all over the world.Even in the ancient days. The fear of Friday the 13th is called Friggatriskaidekaphobia/paraskavedekatriaphobia. Frigga is the goddess to whom Friday is named while triskaidephobia is fear for the number 13. But where did the superstition come from? Some theories which have been proposed  try to explain why people have phobia for Friday the 13th.
1.Number 12 is considered a number of completeness because of many reflections like 12 hours of the clock,12 signs of zodiac,12months of the year,12 tribes of Israel,12 disciples of Jesus and many others. Therefore 13 is considered irregular and odd.For example the 13th person in the last supper betrayed Jesus.
2.Friday was also the day Jesus was crucified, therefore making it a day of tragedy. That could be the reason why serious Christians have fear for Friday.
It`s no wonder most Hotels skip the 13th floor, airlines skip the 13th gate and room 13 in most hospitals is skipped.
There is at least one 13th Friday in a year and at most 3,is that a coincidence? Is fear for Friday the 13th a mere superstition of the west or it is true it really is a day of bad luck.
About 21 million Americans are affected by this day making it the most feared day in Human history.
Do you fear Friday 13th?Is it just a mere superstition?Does it affect you?It affects people, others can`t travel on this day, fearing something bad may happen along the way.And other people can not go to work for fear they might get fired. You can also get sucked for not going to work,so is it really worth it?
I am told the best remedy for this phobia  is to walk around your house 13 times, again that is being superstitious,so there is no remedy at all. Just accept and move on!

Kenya's top blogs

In this times, people get news from blogs and social networks, it really feels good when you get news on twitter before you see it on TV. So i decided to do a list of kenyan blogs, opinions are mine obviously.

ghafla!
This is obviously the leading entertainment website in Kenya. Talk of new videos, events and all the controversial stories in the Kenyan showbiz industry. They boast of over a million monthly unique visitors and over a eight million page views in a month. Ghafla! runs on joomla and they are doing good, not necessarily great. They rarely do exposing stories, mostly what they do is just mere reporting, which is not bad when all you are after is just profit. But they do reveal some secrets. And i heard that Radio Africa has immense interest in the site. Let`s see what happens.

nairobiwire
This according to me is the best Kenyan website.Nairobiwire is very informing!I just wish i knew the people/person behind it.These guys are really amazing. I am not very sure if this is them but i`d rather you check it for  Yourself here. The site is powered by mobstac i think from India.Nairobiwire will inform you about everything you need to know .You can live without the rest but you cant live without Nairobiwire.

jackalnews
Bosire runs this one.If you don't know Bogonko Bosire, follow him on twitter or Facebook.I n jackal news its all about exposing and revealing. You will get the news that doesn't get to your TV. It is all about exposing. You will find stories that happen in our media houses but too shameful to report. You will know why ann ngugi was fired from k24. Bosire is a man who's got balls, he speaks his mind fearlessely.
I also heard that this man really loves his guiness, that is him.You should visit jackal if you haven't.Jackal news runs on word press.

techmtaa
If you are just coming from mars, techmtaa is all about Robert Alai. If you don't know Alai you should get out of Kenya. Techmtaa is a very good place to advertise. Let me give  you an example why,Airtel advertises in techmtaa, and not long ago Alai was tweeting nonsense about how Safaricom mistreats its workers. Now you understand why. Robert Alai is controversial and biased which is a good thing for a blogger. That is alesson i learnt from my good friend Dennis Itumbi.Techmtaa runs on word press.

kenyan-post
This wont be a good coverage. I strongly believe that the guy behind kenya-post is too idle and the only thing he could find to do is just copying stories and pasting them in his site,or he is just lazy.I rest my case.

so there you have it my good people, but there are other very good sites out there, I strongly recommend you visit dennisitumbi.com
There you will find all sorts of political news ,analysis and of course opinions,we all know Dennis Itumbi to be a jubilee die-hard, so you know the type of opinions to find there.   I'm personally inspired by Dennis Itumbi and would love to work for/with him one of these fine days .
